I am a confident and reliable individual who is a very quick learner and likes to take on new challenges. As a consistent high achiever, I constantly strive to do my best in every circumstance. My skills include excellent time keeping and organisational skills. My eye for perfectionism and strong determination, as an individual who enjoys art as a hobby, also translates to tutoring. In my current job as a tutor for a homeschooled student, I have to meet content deadlines, organise and compose lesson plans as well as schedule progress reports and assessments monthly. I use my communication skills to explain information clearly to my student in a way that she can easily understand. Creativity is crucial in ensuring that I present the content in a way that is engaging but also informative and helps her to retain key information: this can include creating storylines and making interactive presentations. To organise myself, I use calendars, content checklists and Google Classroom and Drive on a daily basis which keeps me up-to-date on progress and attainment. I use my initiative in preparing revision packs for several sources outlining key revision points according to the specification notes in the KS3 National Curriculum. Furthermore, I assess what levels my student is performing at and make detailed plans on how to combat any gaps in knowledge. I believe my own personal experience during my GCSE exams makes me relate to students on a personal level. Based on the students style of learning, I can devise an effective learning plan. As someone who achieved top grades in English, I hope to help students fulfill their full potential.
