I am writing in application for the Part Time Academic tutor position with your organization. I have the relevant skills and experience to be qualified for this position, and I shall outline these. I am skilled to teach Economics, English, Maths, but can also teach other Humanities.
I am a recent graduate in Bsc Economics. While still awaiting my results, I cannot get lower than a medium-high 2:1. I possess a passion for tutoring and teaching, and so I see the job opportunity for Part Time Academic Tutor as something fulfilling and rewarding due to its social value. I have always been a teacher, whether informally or formally.

My extensive knowledge of economics makes me highly qualified and capable of teaching Economics at GCSE, A-level, or IB. Furthermore, since I have had to undertake mathematical modules, I am also able to teach Mathematics at Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and GCSE level, while I am also proficient in Statistics and Calculus so will be able to teach certain modules at A-level and IB Maths. I have previous experience in teaching GCSE and Key Stage 3 Maths as a Sixth Form student. Throughout my A-levels, I ran a morning one-to-one mentoring and tutoring classes to those underperforming in Maths. I was able to vastly improve the grades of my students. Furthermore, while I have no formal experience in tutoring economics, for the past 6 years I have been assisting course mates in economic principles. I am also qualified and capable of teaching English Language up to GCSE level. As stated on my CV, I have previously worked at the International Red Cross in Dalston, London, teaching English to destitute. I have also undertaken similar work at the Iranian Foundation, mentoring adult refugees. These experiences have further both increased my passion and allowed me to further develop the skills required to be a tutor. I believe that often there is an underemphasis on interpersonal and communication skills within the sector. And this is where I excel. The fact that it is these skills are my strengths entail that I can articulate points to students, whatever their age, coherently. Building relationships with students is imperative for their success. This being said, I recognize that students are not homogenous; different students require differing needs and approaches. For instance, while these are prerequisites for teaching, some students require a tutoring approach that emphasizes patience and compassion. I am a flexible teacher, tailoring sessions off the needs of students. It is imperative for me to understand the student to see what type of learning method he/she benefits most from. Some are visual learners, and so for example in the context of tutoring economics, I will place more of a focus on utilizing graphs and diagrams so the student can grasp theoretical concepts with more ease. Or some students will be like myself, in that they require a further emphasis on practical examples to fully understand concepts.
