I have several years of professional experience as a translator, interpreter and language instructor and I am fluent in both English and Spanish, which is my native language. My B.A. Honours degree in Media & Management from Leeds University was strategic in securing vocational positions with the Spanish National Police. Initially I was employed as an investigator of fraud at the Police Headquarters in Madrid and was responsible for ensuring clear and concise communications among the various law enforcement agencies during an international investigation alongside the City of London Police. Following this, I was selected as a language instructor at the General Academy of Police Officers of Avila (Spain), where I taught English at all levels to police staff, which gave me extensive grounding and experience in language teaching and methodology.
In order to further my professional skills in the foreign language field, I decided to undertake my Master’s Degree in Translating, Interpreting and Subtitling at the University of Essex, for which I achieved First Class Honours. I then continued to develop my career path in media organisations, while taking on translating and proofreading roles in my spare time.
I am a truly committed and dedicated individual who has built a strong and very versatile career path. I am a very dynamic, flexible and hard worker who constantly strives to seek perfection and success in all my tasks. I love working in international environments and I am very comfortable both in the classroom and in fast-paced work environments, where I have a proven track record in carrying out my duties and tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently and effectively, both independently and within a team framework.
